The White Rann

The Great Rann of Kutch is one of the world's largest salt deserts — a vast 7,500 square kilometer expanse of brilliant white salt crust stretching to the horizon. Left behind each year as monsoon floodwaters evaporate under the desert sun, the salt desert reaches its glory during winter. On full moon (Purnima) nights, the blinding salt flats reflect moonlight in shimmering silver tones, creating a dreamlike landscape unlike anywhere else on Earth.
